LG Electronics who said that they have “doubled” sales of their premium priced OLED TV’s in Australia following the launch of a comparison marketing campaign, the local subsidary is set to benefit from a major investment by LG Display in new OLED capability.
According to Angus Jones the Marketing Director of LG Australia, sales of the Companies flagship TV offering has significantly increased in recent weeks following the launch of a multimillion dollar advbertising campaign where the quality of an LG OLED YV is compared to that of their rivals.
At the weekend LG Display confirmed that they are investing over A$4 Billion into extending their OLED production lines as demand for the display technology “tales off”.
The Company said that they are currently expanding production lines for both small and large OLED display screens for TVs, Smartphones, and display screens in motor vehicles.
In Australia LG only sells OLED TV screens in the 55″ and 60″ ” market their plan is to move to smaller OLED TV’s next year.
LG Display said that theu are planning to invest between $3.4billion to $4.24 billion this year in new OLED display screen capability.
